ABOUT ME

“All media deserves preservation. The more eyes on it, the better.”

That’s been my motto for over 10 years, when I first created a YouTube channel dedicated exclusively to archiving VHS material. The channel is still consistently updated to this day.

I hope to use my expertise of the format, as well as other physical digital media formats, to help other companies. Included on this page is my capstone project and other internships I accomplished over the past few months.

You can view my resume on the next page.

My VHS Inventory

  • I created a full VHS inventory for my personal collection. I currently own over 300 tapes, including many retail tapes and recordings off of TV.
  • This required many hours of independent research on tape masters and the like, to create a fully comprehensive list of the versions of these tapes I own.
  • The inventory is available on Internet Archive and is meant to serve as a “proof-of-concept” for future archival projects. It will remain constantly updated as I obtain new tapes.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

CBZ VHS

  • This YouTube account was where it all started for me. About 10 years ago, I became heavily invested in the lost art of TV branding, especially among the kids channels that have migrated to streaming, and have uploaded my finds here.
  • I continue to keep updating the channel as I find new footage and identify specifics about said footage. I’ve also been involved with a few lost media hunts over the past decade, all relating to these channels.

GBH Boston Archives

  • Last summer, I worked with GBH to create a comprehensive inventory list for three of their content vendors. The list was created using Excel, spanning over a decade of content.
  • I was also introduced to their archives. I hope to work with other companies to similar improve their archiving abilities.

What I Learned

  • Basic Excel spreadsheet creation
  • Setting up a proper schedule for myself
  • Identifying, and properly organizing, inventory

LASELL UNIVERSITY

Keeping Track of Lasell Alumni

  • This past semester, I worked with Lasell chair of communication, Meryl Perlson, to create a comprehensive list of alumni who had graduated the university.
  • The list contains over 400 students ranging as far back as 2010, across two lists and independent research done through LinkedIn.

Pinball Purveyor

  • For the pinball website Tilt Forums, I popularized the idea of community-driven rules documents for recent pinball machines. I’ve also kept the documents properly archived - the site contains a full inventory of the ones I’ve started and worked on.
  • View the rules documents I’ve worked on, along with the users of the forum, here: http://tiltforums.com/t/rulesheet-master-list/7230
